CDC survey: 1 in 7 teenagers had a sports concussion in 2017

 In Teen concussion

The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) conducts a survey on the health of American teenagers every two years.

This year, they added the question, “Have you suffered a concussion from a sport or physical activity at least once in the previous year?”

They were shocked to find 15 percent responded “Yes.”

No government survey has ever recorded a number this high, which is a positive sign that education and awareness efforts are working.

But, as concussion numbers continue to rise and expose this previously hidden epidemic, we wonder — where is the ceiling?
